Love is a Fallacy (reaction)

As I had read the story entitled, “Love is a Fallacy” in the beginning I thought that this story was beautiful. I find it interesting to read from the title itself. I wonder why the author said that love is a fallacy. I was very curious to know what was his message for us in the story. I don’t know what fallacy really means but they said that fallacy means not true or fake. I asked myself, is love really a Fallacy?!?

At first sight, you’ll have a conclusion that the main characters will have a happy ending. That was the first thing that came into my mind. But I was disappointed after I had red the story, although the story was not hanging, I felt that there is a continuation, I am not satisfied with the ending. The story did not my reach my expectations.

As a reader, you’ll have different reactions or comments as you read the story or after you had red the story. You can get also different values from the story.

I just felt that they are all dumb, especially the one narrating the story. Now I can really say that no matter how smart you are in academics or in other fields, you’re not considered smart if you are not smart in other aspects. For me, as a smart person you also have to be wise. I don’t like the characters because none of them has a good personality. Petey is a faddist. For me, going with the flow or having the new craze is not bad but too much is not good. For me, having that character is an addict. Imagine? He would give her girlfriend as an exchange just for the raccoon coat!.. If I were the Polly, I would really hate Petey for doing so. But the girl is also stupid because I thought that she had a good reason of why she chose Petey over the boy (narrator). I think she is also a faddist because why would she chose Polly just he had the raccoon coat compared to the boy (narrator) who is intelligent and very smart a young age..? It’s not a very good reason for a person who is in good mind. I was impressed to the girl because she had learned the course of logic that was taught to her in a few nights..,in five nights. At the same time, I can consider this girl wise. She applied immediately what she had learned so fast. Petey is also wise because he let the boy (narrator) believed that he really fully gave his girlfriend Polly, to the boy (narrator). The boy (narrator) is wise but in the end he was tricked by Petey so maybe Petey is wiser than the boy (narrator).

When I remembered the story, I just laughed because of the flow of the story. It is funny because of the ending. Imagine,,the girl chose Petey just because he had the raccoon coat?? My question is, what if the raccoon coat is not in the style anymore, would she still choose Petey over the boy (narrator)?..

The values I got from the story was that. Love is not easy and you can’t just say or assure that you’ll be happy with that person just because she/he has the characteristics you’re looking for the person you want. Remember always that love will just enter your life without knowing that it already entered into your life and the person meant for you had came along.
