Appliances

We have a lot of appliances in our generation because of the modern technology we have right now.

For me, the common appliance we have is the television set. We people like to watch movies or shows that are seen in the television especially Filipinos. Filipino people like to watch soap operas or dramatic shows; there are some people who want to watch wrestling/fight scenes and sometimes comedy shows. Television also can serve as the communication between the government and its people. Like the media, we heard news about the happenings in our surroundings and the government. If you want also to have an update about your favorite artists, you can have them by watching television. If you want also to know the weather in your city or province, you can be informed by watching the weather forecast in your televisions at home. You can watch also the shows of your favorite artists. You can even see the music videos. You can also see the advertisements of your favorite products. Television is very useful to us.

Computer also is very useful especially in our works and in our studies. That’s why schools are teaching us to know how to use the computer because it is very useful to us. Without it, we can’t do our works faster. Computers are important to students like us who are still studying for our researches and assignments that we have to computerize. Computers are very useful when it have internet connection because some of our assignments need the internet that’s why you can see a lot of students going to the internet cafes for their research because they don’t have computers at home. Computers are also for fun. Boys like playing on-line games that’s why even early in the morning during schooldays, you can found them inside the Internet cafes playing games. I knew many people who are now addict to computer games that are why they were sometimes scolded by their parents. Internet has a big influence to young people. You can find nude videos and sex videos that serve as bad influence to the young people. You can get a lot of information in the computer especially when it has an internet connection.

Electric fan also is very useful to us especially during summer because the weather is hot. Air conditioner also is better than the electric fan because it gives you colder air. Of course, I can’t live without refrigerator. We can store the food there so that it will be cold. I like to drink cold water or cold drinks because it is refreshing. Other foods also are put there to be preserved such as meat and fruits. If you want to be entertained in your home, DVD player is a good appliance for you. You can watch a movie in your house by this player. And if there is a television, there is also a radio. Actually, radios can be found in the provinces because they don’t have television set there. Radio is their alternative for the television.
Appliances are very important to us in our daily lives because it helps us in doing our works or jobs.
